Beginner Level - Practical Drama Exercise Videos
On September 4, 1966, the TV language course "English for You" was for the first time on the air. Pronunciation and grammar exercises were thereby led by the native speaker Diana Loeser. In exchange, there were scenes with the two living in the GDR actors Alan Clarke and Valerie Lester as ( "Tom" and "Peggy"). The content covered to everyday scenes, but also to socio-critical issues such as difficulties of union activity and social problems in the capitalist Britain. Twice was thereby rotated on location in London and Coventry.
In 1978 a revision of the series. The basic structure was largely retained, but more scenes were shot in the UK now. Both the editor and the actor couple (now "Dave and Jenny") were filled. Until 1989, these new episodes sent several times a week. All programs were broadcast in black and white. [2]
Accompanying literature, there were training and practice books, published by the Verlag Volk und Wissen.
